Mollymook Beach House

SOUTH COAST, NSW

ARCHITECT:

CASEY BROWN ARCHITECTURE

The main upper level is an open warehouse-like space with a large butterfly roof letting in light to the east and west. An enclosed stone courtyard entry provides a protected sunny afternoon entertaining space. The building is a steel structure with a basement of stone from a local quarry, timber boarding painted black, zinc hoods and a colour bond roof combine to create a subtle palette of greys. The open design of the living area allows the building to cool naturally by catching the sea breezes.
