Stanwell Park House

SOUTH COAST, NSW

CASEY BROWN ARCHITECTURE

This house at the base of the escarpment has panoramic views to the north and east over Stanwell Park Beach. Three attached pavilions have small level changes defining the functions within an overall open plan and are built from local stone, timber and copper. The materials were chosen to withstand the maritime location and visually recede into the landscape. The many levels respond to a steep site while protecting neighbour's views. The large roof overhangs, shutters and high covered spaces provide shade.
